Little Leprechauns: A pot of gold and more!

Updated: Jun 14

We had a wonderful time this past weekend with our Little Leprechauns (pop up Creative Music and Me Class.) This was our first one, and we are thrilled to say that it was a huge success! It was a fun-filled afternoon with lots of singing, dancing, and learning. Our young participants had a great time, and we couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

As the children can, we had them start with some colouring, this way the children were able to get to know each other and warm up to space. We started our class with singing. We sang some fun and catchy tunes that the kids loved. We also included LOTS of dancing, where we stuck silly poses and moved our bodies to the rhythm. The kids loved it, and it was great to see them express themselves through dance.

Next, we pretended to be dinosaurs as we sang and stomped to the rhythm. It was a fun way to get the kids moving and active. We also turned scarves into jellyfish and had a blast waving them around. We had no shortage of creativity!

We then made a rainbow and shamrock sun catchers. It was a fun and creative activity that both the kids and parents enjoyed doing.

To calm things down, we had a mini yoga session. We sang our yoga songs and practiced some basic poses and stretches. We also included some deep breathing exercises. This was the perfect way to wind them down and get ready for our book reading. We read the book “The World Made a Rainbow,” which is a beautiful children’s book that teaches us that we can make a rainbow out of anything. We also learned that after every storm, there is always a rainbow. It was a lovely story, and the kids loved it.

Afterwards we started playing with some instruments. We explore the colours of the rainbow with our bells and boomwhackers. We learned that each colour has a different note. Once we were done with that, all the kids were able to pick out an instrument and we put a band together. We explored a lot of different percussion instruments.

Finally, we created fireworks with ribbon streamers and tambourines. It was a fun and exciting way to close up the class. The kids loved waving the streamers and shaking their tambourines.

Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with lots of fun and learning. We can’t wait for our next pop-up class in May. It’s going to be even more fun and exciting! If you want to give your little ones a creative and fun experience, be sure to sign up for our next event!
